About Us

Fox Hollow Studio began because of two very small, very unusual kittens.

I’m originally from England, now living in Germany, and like many people, I didn’t expect two rescue cats to completely reshape the way I thought about home, care, and responsibility. But Pancake and Marmalade did exactly that.

They came from a rescued litter. Pancake was impossibly tiny and undernourished — the smallest little thing I’d ever seen — but full of confidence, mischief, and an unwavering belief that food should always be arriving. Marmalade was her opposite: shy, nervous, and born with a little gummy underbite that made eating difficult. She solved the problem by burying her whole face into her food bowl, which meant she was almost permanently wearing half her dinner on her nose. (You can see her dirty little nose in the picture!)

Bringing them home changed everything.

As we cared for them, I became deeply aware of just how much we shape the world our pets live in. For indoor cats especially, we are responsible for their environment, their enrichment, and their ability to express natural instincts in safe and meaningful ways.

That realization stayed with me.

I wanted to give them more than the basics. I wanted products that supported their wellbeing, encouraged play, comfort, and curiosity — while also fitting naturally into a home that felt calm, warm, and thoughtfully designed.

What I found instead was a gap.

So many pet products felt disposable, overly synthetic, or disconnected from the spaces we actually live in. It was difficult to find items made from natural materials that were both functional for pets and beautiful enough to belong in the home.

So I started creating them myself.

Fox Hollow Studio is built on the belief that pet products can be more intentional — designed to enrich animals’ lives while complementing the homes they share with us.

Everything I create begins with the same question: would this genuinely improve my cats’ experience?

That means choosing natural materials, focusing on enrichment and comfort, and designing products that support instinctive behaviours like hunting, kicking, exploring, and resting.

At its heart, Fox Hollow Studio is about care — for animals, for the spaces we create, and for the small daily moments that make a house feel like home.

Pancake and Marmalade remain at the centre of it all. They are my testers, my muses, and very much the ones in charge.

This business exists because I fell in love with two little creatures and realised that loving them meant constantly asking how I could make their world better.

That is still the purpose behind everything here.
